About Michelle Nesin

With more than two and a half decades as a career Physical Therapy specialist and administrator, Michelle Nesin currently serves as Owner, Education Director and Physical Therapist for Nesin Therapy Services, P.C., serving the Huntsville/Madison County AL area. In additional to her primary role of maintaining exceptional physical therapy care, she navigates growth & expansion and supervises 5 outpatient orthopedic clinics with 33 PT staff. She facilitates workforce development, mentoring, in-service training and Physical Therapist recruitment.

Concurrently, Nesin is an Instructor and Physical Therapist with the Institute of Physical Art, serving as the Primary Instructor for Functional Orthopedics I, Functional Gait, Visceral Functional Mobilization and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF). She oversees continuing education for physical therapists, physical therapy assistants and occupational therapists.

Previous career posts include Johnson and Johnson Physical Therapy, Steamboat Springs, CO, Kasier Vallejo Rehabilitation Center in Vallejo, Calif., and the Washington Hospital Center in D.C.

Nesin earned a B.S. degree in Physical Therapy from the University of South Alabama, and has continued her education via The Institute of Physical Art, North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy, Mulligan Institute, McConnell Institute and many others. She also served as a fellowship resident in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) at Kaiser Rehabilitation Center in Vallejo. In 1997 she completed the first CFMT testing process and advanced to two Functional Manual Therapy Fellowships with the Institute of Physical Art in 2001 and 2009.

She is licensed in Alabama, Oregon and California. Professional associations include the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the Orthopedic Section of the APTA, the Woman’s Health Section of the APTA, the International Pelvic Pain Society, the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapists and the Alabama APTA. She has served as Regional Leader for Alabama Physical Therapy Association Direct Access, the Federal Affairs Liaison for the American Physical Therapy Association, Past President of the Madison Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Huntsville/Madison County Class 25 and the Women’s Economic Development Counsel.

Aside from her esteemed career, Nesin has completed five marathons, 17 half-marathons and five half-iron man triathlons. She enjoys camping, bicycling, backpacking, skiing, kite boarding and water sports.
