About John Taros
John Taros became certified and began teaching with the IPA in 1999. Over the past several years, John Taros has taught several FO I courses and has been a lab assistant in many of the advanced courses. He is also a Certified Functional Manual Therapist.
Prior to receiving his certificate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University, John completed a BS in Physical Education from Queens College. He subsequently did a Masters in Exercise Physiology from Long Island University. Since then John has attended numerous orthopedic physical therapy courses studying various approaches including: Paris, Cyriax, McKenzie, Maitland, Norwegian, Canadian, Feldenkrais, and Osteopathic. John continues to treat patients in his private practice where he specializes in orthopedic and sports physical therapy. He has also taken several home study courses sponsored by APTA.
He lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife, Diane and is an avid runner, biker and swimmer, having completed 29 marathons and 7 triathlons. John is co-owner of Brooklyn Heights Physical Therapy.
