James R. Lewis, PT, MS, OCS, CFMT, CKTP, ScD(c)

Mr. James Lewis is a licensed Physical Therapist and is the clinic manager and partner at Allen Sports and SpineCare, L.L.P. in Allen, TX. A native of Texas, he received his Physical Therapy degree from Texas Woman’s University (TWU) of Dallas in 1997. Prior to entering Physical Therapy, James served six years in the U.S. Air Force and is a Gulf War Veteran.

He currently teaches nationally for both Institute of Physical Art and CrunKeyser as a level 1 instructor in the Foundations (FMT) course work and as adjunct faculty at The University of North Texas Physical Therapy school in Ft. Worth, Texas.

James achieved board certification in 2010 by the American Physical Therapy Association as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) and in 2006 he obtained recognition as a Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT). In 2013 he received recognition as a Certified Kinesiotape Practitioner (CKTP). Currently, he is enrolled at Texas Tech University of Health Science perusing his Doctorate of Science (ScD) and is a candidate (c) for graduation in 2018.

James has over 20 years of experience treating patients with general orthopedic injuries sustained from work, sports and play. He specializes in the treatment of spine, shoulder and knee injuries and has worked with high school, collegiate, professional and Olympic caliber athletes during his career.

James and his wife live in Plano along with their two children. In his spare time, he enjoys bird hunting, woodworking and home improvement projects.
