About Glen S. Gomez

I began my career as a Rehab Aide at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in 1997. I worked in Acute, Acute Rehab, Critical Care Unit, and Outpatient Ortho/Neuro. I received my B.S. in Health Sciences with an emphasis in Health Education from Cal Sate University Northridge in 2000.While in school I was a Personal Trainer/ Coach helping my clients from the collegiate athletes and folks with Diabetes, Obesity, Cardiac problems reach their fitness goals and improve their health and well being. I graduated with a Masters in Physical Therapy from Cal State University Northridge in 2003. I stayed on at Providence Holy Cross in Outpatient. I became to go to therapist for treatment of Neurological disorders including Vestibular Dysfunction, Balance and Dizziness Problems, Stroke, , TBI and Spinal Chord Injury. I took my first class from the Institute of Physical Art in 2005. It was time for me to move on and I started working with Select Physical Therapy/ Hunt in Glendale 2006. . I received my Certification in Functional Manual Therapy in 2014. I am a Clinical Instructor and take students not only from our local Universities, but from around the nation. I saw a full caseload of clients predominantly Outpatient Orthopedic cases- Sports Medicine with Pediatrics and Collegiate Athletes, Industrial Athletes and Medicine, Workers Comp, I also see clients for TMJ dysfunction, Chronic pain, Neurological cases- such as Parkinson’s and Stroke. My passion is physical therapy, patient care, mentorship, and the life long journey of learning. In August 2017, I was accepted to the Functional Manual Therapy Fellowship Program in beautiful Steamboat Springs, Colorado (one of only two, programs in the United States, the other in Manhattan, New York) where I continued my training to become a Master Level Clinician with the Founders of Functional Manual Therapy Greg and Vicky Johnson, Brent Yamshita- JJPT Clinic Owner and FMT Faculty, and Steve Warfel- FMT Faculty and Fellow, and a team of highly skilled Physical Therapists and Fellows in Training. In September 2018, I rejoined the Select Physical Therapy group as Regional Director for Los Angeles. My goals are the same- continue to serve by treating, mentoring, and teaching. I’m practicing in the beautiful Verdugo Hills, just north of Glendale. Beyond Physical Therapy, I am active in my children school and PTA serving as the PTA President. My family and I have been involved with the Golden West Chapter (Los Angeles Chapter) for ALS Association with Team Sweet Feet since 2002- a cause to raise money for the research to find a cure to battle Lou Gherig’s Disease. I believe in community and service to human kind. Athletics- I’ve competed in Sprint and Olympic distant Triatholons, and Men’s Basketball Leagues. This is just a summary of what has helped me grow and evolve. I look forward to continue to learn and drive myself and the field of Physical Therapy towards excellence.
